When To Choose Glasses Over Contacts

Posted by Danielwalters.com on 5th Mar 2017

For long time glasses wearers, it is often more convenient to choose to wear contacts instead of eyeglasses. This is because there is less bulk with contacts and they are easier to maintain for many of us. However, there are times that eyeglasses are better than contacts in both comfort and practicality and to make it easier on you to decide when and where is wise, we have compiled the situations below.

When you wake up

This one might seem like a no-brainer but a lot of people might simply choose to try to walk to the bathroom to put their contacts in which could potentially cause injury. A better idea is to keep your eyeglasses on your bedside table so that you can easily put them on in the morning and this will help to prevent possible injuries.

Job interviews

First impressions are important and when you are going in for a job interview you want to make an awesome one. Business Insider tells us research suggests that wearing glasses makes you look more intelligent, especially thick, blocky frames. If you are going for that intelligent look, try adding eyeglasses to your outfit.

On a flight

If you are planning on taking an airplane somewhere in the near future, you may want to consider swapping out those contact lenses for good old glasses. This is because you are more than likely going to doze off at some point during the flight and it is not recommended that you sleep in your contacts. It is also more practical because if you lose a contact lense and don’t have a spare you will have to spend the remainder of the flight partially blind.

While using electronics

The average adult spends nine hours daily on electronic devices so it is no wonder that it is recommended to wear glasses instead of contacts while working or relaxing on any electronic device. It is also more practical because contacts have more of a tendency to dry out and irritate your eyes. You can even buy eyeglasses that protect your eyes from damage that comes from excess electronic usage.
