How To Find Your Frame Size!
Posted by Danielwalters.com on 15th Mar 2017
When shopping for a new pair of glasses online, you will often find that there is a little chart on most eyeglass stores where you will select your size. This chart may have several different numbers which represent bridge, temple, eye, and other measurements. You may be wondering what these numbers mean and how you would go about knowing what numbers represent you and your eyeglasses size.
Your measurements will have to be taken by your eye doctor when you are prescribed your first pair of glasses. Lucky for us, there is an easy way to find these measurements when you are purchasing a new pair online simply by looking at your old pair. The measurements for your eyeglasses are engraved onto most prescription glasses temple frames or behind the bridge.
Once you have the numbers they are extremely easy to read and you will have your correct size. For example, if the number engraved onto your glasses is 53 18-150 that means that your eye size is 53, your bridge size is 18, and your temple size is 150. You can enter these on the chart and order your brand new pair.
If you see an option that reads “Vertical(B)” you may also wonder what this means. This number is only relevant if you are interested in purchasing bifocals or no-line progressives. The only real role of this number is if you need to measure the depth of the eye portion and it is not required for the ordering process for a regular pair of prescription eyeglasses.
We hope that this answers any questions you may have on reading the measurements when ordering eyeglasses online and using the charts on online stores. We are confident that this will simplify the process of purchasing a new pair of eyeglasses online for you as well as ensure that you will get the size right on the first shot.
